Problem Addict, My Wife’s An Angel & Slomo Sapiens
Problem Addict, My Wife’s An Angel, and Slomo Sapiens headline an evening of heavy, abrasive, psychedelic-leaning music at Johnny Brenda’s. The program also features a puppet show by Foam Skeleton and a DJ set from Romain Let Us.
Problem Addict presents itself as a band forged by an indifferent world and united in turning that frustration into aggressive sonic retaliation. My Wife’s An Angel is also on the bill, while Slomo Sapiens brings a blend of psychedelic, garage, sludge, and stoner metal influences. The Philadelphia trio formed after New Zealand-born guitarist and frontman Ceallaigh Manaaki met bassist Greg Geiger and drummer Jon Pritchard shortly after moving to the city in 2016. Their releases include the 2018 EP *Hot Milk*, *Cabin Fever Dreams*, *Slömos Vol. 1*, and the 2023 psychedelic album *The Holy Babble*. Their music draws on isolation, occult and countercultural references, and influences such as The Cramps and The 13th Floor Elevators. The band is planning new singles for fall 2026.
