Made in Philadelphia
Made in Philadelphia is an afternoon concert celebrating the city’s influence on American music. Vocalist Chelsea Reed joins the Philly Pops Jazz Combo for a program centered on classic jazz vocal repertoire and the musicians, sounds, and traditions associated with Philadelphia.
Reed is a Philadelphia-based jazz vocalist, arranger, composer, and bandleader. She leads the Fair Weather Band, which grew out of an informal 2012 South Philadelphia performance and has since toured widely. Her work includes four albums, collaborations with Terell Stafford and Wycliffe Gordon, the 2017 release *Spreadin’ Rhythm Around*, the 2020 album *Carolina Lullaby*, and the 2023 *Christmas EP*. She also teaches jazz history and performance at Temple University.
