Recital: Adam Pearl, harpsichord
Adam Pearl presents a harpsichord recital exploring the development of the Baroque dance suite and toccata. The program places Johann Sebastian Bach’s music in the context of earlier composers, tracing the dance suite from Johann Jakob Froberger through Jean-Henri d’Anglebert to Bach’s iconic French Suite, while also following the evolution of the toccata from Girolamo Frescobaldi to Dieterich Buxtehude and Bach.
The recital is part of Tempesta di Mare’s Artist Recital Series and is presented at three Philadelphia-area venues over one weekend.
