Eco-Printing with Autumn Leaves
Eco-Printing with Autumn Leaves is an in-person, hands-on creative arts class at Longwood Gardens. Participants will use eucalyptus and autumn leaves to create an organic cotton bandana with their own botanical design, learning how natural dyes can produce detailed plant impressions on fabric. The workshop covers fiber preparation, plant selection, and the different dye characteristics of flowers and leaves.
The class is led by Laura Hricko, a Philadelphia artist and educator whose work spans sewing, quilting, embroidery, textile surface design, and natural dyeing. Her practice draws on homegrown, foraged, and food-waste materials, connecting contemporary fiber arts with historic craft traditions.
