Kaleidoscope Residency Recital

1726 Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA

The Kaleidoscope Residency Recital presents Curtis students in the culmination of a five-day chamber music residency with the Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective, a U.K.-based ensemble committed to inclusive programming, broad representation, and the discovery of lesser-known repertoire. The residency was led by violinists Elena Urioste and Melissa White, both Curtis alumnae, and pianist-composer Tom Poster. Students developed their own arrangements and programming, with the residency also including a chamber music masterclass and a yoga workshop.

The recital features music by Mozart, Duvernoy, Dring, Saint-Saëns, Rodgers, and Hollander, including Mozart’s organ-and-strings sonatas, a Saint-Saëns septet, and arrangements for unusual instrumental combinations. The program brings together Curtis students and guest artists in performances ranging from classical chamber works to vocal selections.
