The All Star Septet With Trombonist Conrad Herwig + Saxophonists Victor North & Brandon Suarez

The All Star Septet presents a two-night engagement at Chris’ Jazz Cafe, led by trombonist Conrad Herwig and featuring saxophonists Victor North and Brandon Suarez. The program also includes Daniel Cohen and special guest pianist Brandon Goldberg, with performances scheduled each evening at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m.

North has been a major presence in Philadelphia jazz for more than 25 years. Originally from Girdwood, Alaska, he studied at Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts and has led his own groups while working as a sideman. He is a member of Joey DeFrancesco’s “Philly Trio” and has worked with artists including Orrin Evans, Elio Villafranca, Charles Fambrough, John Swana, Terell Stafford, Mickey Roker, and Duane Eubanks. North has also performed at the Blue Note in New York as part of Odean Pope’s Saxophone Choir and appears on Lucas Brown’s album *Skyviews*.

Cohen is an award-winning saxophonist, woodwind doubler, composer, arranger, and educator based in New York City, as well as a Juilliard graduate. His honors include first-place awards in several competitions, including the DownBeat student awards for jazz arrangement, the Vandoren Emerging Artist competition, and the Rostov International Jazz Competition. He has performed with Kenny Washington and Ted Nash at venues and festivals including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center’s Rose Hall, Dizzy’s Club, Smalls, Konzerthaus Berlin, and the Red Sea Jazz Festival. His work combines jazz traditions with classical influences.
