HFB Ensemble
HFB Ensemble presents an evening of original music shaped during HFB’s graduate studies at the University of Denver. The compositions grew out of different versions of the university’s Small Group 1, with the ensemble bringing that work to the stage at Chris’ Jazz Cafe. The program includes “Quinoa,” contributed by Ben Parrish as part of the Vegetable Suite, and “Arapahoe Joe’s Dream,” a peace offering inspired by Native American teachings and a broader message of respect, peace, and positive social change.
The music was developed with ensemble coaching from Eric Gunnison and Steve Wiest and supported by the community of the Lamont School of Music and the Newman Center for the Performing Arts, including its faculty, students, administrators, engineers, donors, and facilities.
