The Shining
Stanley Kubrick’s *The Shining* follows Jack Torrance, a struggling writer who takes a winter caretaker position at the isolated Overlook Hotel and brings along his wife and young son, Danny. As the family encounters the hotel’s disturbing history, Jack is increasingly consumed by its sinister influence, while Danny’s psychic “shining” allows him to perceive the danger and seek help. The 1980 horror classic is known for its psychological intensity, unsettling imagery, and lasting influence on horror and popular culture.
