THE PINK VELVET WITCH
The Philadelphia premiere of *The Pink Velvet Witch* is a one-night documentary screening at PhilaMOCA, with filmmaker Bruce Grossman and subject Niki Brisco appearing in person. Winner of Best Documentary Feature at the Coney Island Film Festival, the film explores Brisco’s life as a trans queer renegade in New York City and her place within queer culture and subculture.
Known as The Pink Velvet Witch, Brisco is a shock performer infamous for swallowing razor blades. Through raw vignettes and live-performance footage, the documentary examines BDSM and sadomasochism as ritual, art, and individual expression. The screening will be followed by a live Q&A with Brisco, Grossman, and Mister E. of Dead Flowers Circus-Sideshow.
