Bailen
Bailen brings its indie-pop and folk-rock sound to Johnny Brenda’s for the “SWIM!!! At Your Own Risk Tour,” with support from singer-songwriter Grace Gardner. The sibling trio Julia, Daniel, and David is known for close three-part harmonies, dynamic arrangements, heartfelt ballads, and energetic anthems.
Raised in New York City by freelance classical musicians, Bailen blends rock and roll influences with its members’ classical background. The band has released the albums *Thrilled to Be Here* and *Tired Hearts*, earned more than 50 million catalog streams, and appeared on *CBS Mornings* and *The Today Show*. “I Was Wrong” reached the top 20 on Billboard’s Adult Alternative chart, while NPR selected “Something Tells Me” as one of the best songs of 2019. Bailen has also toured with Hozier, Amos Lee, and The Lone Bellow, and is preparing a third independently produced album with collaborators including Jake Sinclair, Riccardo Damian, and Chris Tabron.
Grace Gardner opens the show. Gardner’s music combines singer-songwriter storytelling with 1970s and 1980s rock, Southern folk, New Orleans influences, and detailed guitar-based production. Gardner writes about relationships, recovery, and identity, and produces all of their own music.
