Rami George: from every river to every sea
Rami George’s *from every river to every sea* is a moving-image exhibition that reconsiders mass mobilizations for Palestine in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., from 2023 to 2024. Created amid the artist’s disillusionment with the art world during a period of crisis, the work uses inverted imagery and layered digital manipulation to transform handheld footage of public resistance, flags, and police surveillance into an experiential archive with an intense, unexpected vibrancy.
The piece is grounded in SWANA-centered solidarity and connects the ordinary rhythms of daily life with broader histories of suffering, endurance, and collective resistance. It traces a movement toward regrouping and decolonial futures. The exhibition is part of Community Media Lab, Asian Arts Initiative’s curatorial initiative for Philadelphia-based artists, and is presented within the citywide *Collective Futures* festival.

About the Artist: Rami George is an interdisciplinary artist born in 1989 in the United States and currently based in Lenapehoking, in what is now called Philadelphia. Their practice is informed by political struggles and fractured narratives, and their work has been exhibited and screened widely.
Presentation: The exhibition is part of *Collective Futures*, a citywide fall festival bringing together more than 40 artist-run spaces and community arts organizations across Philadelphia.
