Phoenix Chamber Music: Concert II
Phoenix Chamber Music: Concert II is the second concert in Phoenix Chamber’s inaugural season, “Beethoven & Beyond: A Bicentennial Celebration.” The program pairs mezzo-soprano Natasha Nelson with pianists Ian Moschenross and Nhi Huynh for an evening focused on the expressive possibilities of the human voice and the varied colors of the piano.
The first half moves across several musical styles, from Kurt Weill and Jerome Kern to Alma Mahler, Anton Webern, and Lori Laitman. The second half features both pianists performing at one instrument, including works by Beethoven and Schubert and Joe Hisaishi’s music from *Howl’s Moving Castle*. Phoenix Chamber describes its concerts as welcoming, relaxed, and community-oriented, with drinks available for purchase from The Colonial Theatre.
