Charlottesville
Charlottesville is a tour-de-force solo performance about the power of witnessing, created entirely from more than 100 firsthand interviews with Charlottesville residents, court transcripts, and news reports. The Philadelphia premiere examines the tragic events of August 11 and 12, 2017, portraying a community in crisis alongside activists, students, residents, lawyers, far-right figures, and political leaders.
The production investigates race, identity, and the systems and ideologies that sustain white supremacist movements, while drawing connections to the global rise of nationalism and racial division. It was named the winner of the 2025 Scotsman Fringe First Award for Outstanding New Writing.
