Dangerous Women 3: Panel Discussion with Christina Weyl
Dangerous Women 3: Panel Discussion with Christina Weyl is the first of four “DW3 Sundays” connected to the Dangerous Women 3 exhibition. The program welcomes Christina Weyl, an author, scholar, curator, and director of The Atelier 17 Project, for a discussion about the women artists who helped advance modernism and feminism through the influential Atelier 17 printmaking studio.
Weyl’s 2019 book, *The Women of Atelier 17: Modernist Printmaking in Midcentury New York*, examines nearly 100 women artists associated with the avant-garde studio, which operated in New York City from 1940 to 1955. Her broader work includes organizing exhibitions for the Print Center New York, Art Students League, Pollock-Krasner House, and Arcadia University; publishing in several art and archival journals; and contributing to exhibition catalogues and anthologies. Through The Atelier 17 Project, she is also supporting commemorative projects for the workshop’s 1927 founding centennial, including an edited volume, oral-history interviews, and an expanded artist roster.
