Black + Gold Artists Exchange Pop-Up Exhibition
Black + Gold Artists Exchange brings Black American and Asian American artists together to share stories, exchange creative practices, and investigate connections between their communities through art and collaboration. The project considers parallel experiences of systemic oppression and marginalization while exploring intersections between the communities’ histories and lived experiences.
The resulting pop-up exhibition presents new work created through this exchange. More broadly, the project uses creative dialogue and mutual understanding as a form of civic reimagining, inviting audiences to consider Philadelphia’s interconnected cultural histories and what can emerge when communities learn from and create with one another.
